When my daughter was born in 2023, I instinctively reached for the product I grew up with - a thick, multipurpose balm that had been a staple in our Eastern European household for generations. My mum used the balm on me for everything: general moisturising, nappy changes, rashes, cradle cap - you name it. It wasn’t something fancy; it was just something that worked.
I started using it religiously on my daughter from the very beginning, especially between nappy changes and on her face multiple times a day. It was also my go to all over moisturiser following bathtime, before putting her to bed. Her skin stayed soft, calm and beautifully clear - just as baby skin should be.
However, the original product was hard to come by in Australia and I knew I could improve the product to make it even better. With my deep love for skincare and a strong connection to my heritage, I set out to recreate and refine the balm that had been passed down through generations. I honoured the original formula, keeping its rich, effective base - but made gentle yet thoughtful improvements. I removed a few ingredients I didn’t love and added gentle, skin-loving ingredients like calming fermented oat extract and chamomile water to make it even more nourishing for modern baby skincare needs.
